Oakley Sub Zero

A 1990s experiment in making eyewear feel almost weightless, revived three decades later with modern Oakley lens technology.

Oakley Sub Zero Carbon Fiber Prizm Black with packaging

Almost nothing

Oakley says the original Sub Zero debuted in 1992 and was conceived around extreme lightness. Its frameless, highly technical appearance became one of the company’s defining early-1990s experiments.

Thirty years later — 2022

Oakley marked Sub Zero’s 30th anniversary in 2022. The revival brought the early-1990s ultralight idea back into the modern range, while the related Re:SubZero pushed the concept further with contemporary lens construction and Prizm technology.
